Mount Athos Foundation of America (the American Membership of the Friends of Amount Athos) announces two travel scholarships of up to $1000 each to support research projects related to Mount Athos. Applicants must be conducting research related to Amount Athos that requires travel either to Mount Athos, or to a dependency of one of the Athonite monasteries, or to one or more institutions such as museums or research institutes essential to the completion of the applicant's research project. A list of appropriate research fields including Byzantine and post-Byzantine history, art, architecture, and manuscript studies and details regarding the application process and the application packet can be found at the temporary website of MAFA at www.athosfriends.org/mafa/. The application deadline is March 31, 2018. Awards will be announced by May 15, 2018.
